Feb 24 : Matthew 20
There are many times in my life where I think I deserve something because of what I have done. Especially when I have been serving in Cornerstone for a long time now. I have been a Christian a long part of my life. I have studied too many times by myself while my friends didn't. Sometimes I am a little, whats the word, demanding. In this passage Jesus tells us about a parable of the workers who work for a master, each working a different amount, but receiving the same amount of pay. Have you ever felt like this? Its understandable in the human perspective for us to feel for the guys who worked so hard the whole day. You would think they deserve more right? Jesus is saying, let God do what he deems right and appropriate. God knows when to give and when not to give. There are reasons to why God does the things he does, without mistake and without err. Its hard for me understand why, even though I try hard, I fail. Even though I think it is so right, it never turns out the way it seems. God owns the world - he owns me. It takes a little bit of faith to understand that. "Don't I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?"
