"You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort? Have you suffered so much for nothing—if it really was for nothing? Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard"
Have you ever thought about this? This was Paul speaking - rebuking - the Galatian church. I feel that he speaks to me at this very moment. Its amazing that they call the Bible the Living Word. Its as if God planned this all from the very beginning. He knew where we would stumble. Even these QT's written in blogs, or even QT's undocumented, why do we do them? I think a lot of the times I do them out of obligation. I think that if I do this God will give me an A, or he'll fix something else in my life. Legalism seems to find its way into the core of our faith. Out of love is why we should do the things we do. The other day I found myself being rude to somebody, but I then realized I was acting that way because there were no direct consequences. Its like cheating on a homework, quiz, or test. We think that if nobody knows...nobody knows. But out of love we should stop ourselves, out of love we serve our God.
