"Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing."
This is why we do the things we do - in order that we may boast on the day of Christ's return that we did not do the things we did for no reason. I guess boasting here is a good thing. I boast of many things, a lot of times its a silent boast in an attempt to be humble. Humility can be such a hard thing to measure. Some people you can just tell they are so boastful or proud. A lot of NBA stars are kind of like that. While there are people like that there are also other people who display humility most of the time. But who can really tell the state of their heart right? But we need a heart like that of Paul's - pure humility. I thinks its so hard to do things without complaining. Arguing is a little easier for me to overcome because I am not that type of person, but complaining is something I am good at. If I were to overcome this I could be closer to shining like that of the stars - to be one of few to hold out the word of life.
